Madeline Marie “Mickey” Mongillo, 86, of Hamden,
peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Sunday April 2, 2017 at
CT Hospice of Branford. Born on January 7, 1931 in New Haven, the daughter of
the late John and Clementine Mongillo. Sister of Arthur (Mara) Mongillo, Robert
(Janet) Mongillo, and Linda (Mark) Vincent. Earlier in her career she owned CT.
Direct Mail Service with her lifelong and best friend Ida Cirillo. Later she was
a secretary to former Hamden Mayor Peter Villano, and then legal secretary to
the late attorney Morris Gamm. She was a parishioner of the Church of St.
Rita’s of Hamden. She loved the Boston Red Sox, playing cards, and going to the
casinos. She was predeceased in addition to her mother and father, by three
sisters; Rose Asprelli, Jo-Ann Amarone, Bette Giordano, one brother John “Jack”
Mongillo and her dog Skipper. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews,
great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to
thank the Staff and volunteers at CT. Hospice in Branford for their excellent
care.
Her
funeral procession will leave Colonial, 86 Circular Ave Hamden on Thursday
April 6, 2017 at 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St.
Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden at 11 O’clock. Family and friends may
call on Wednesday at Colonial from 5-8pm. In Lieu of flowers donations can be
made to CT. Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford or Animal Haven 89 Mill Rd,
