Robert L. Smith III, age 71, of New Haven, entered eternal
life on July 3, 2015. Born on Dec. 4, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Dorothy
Austin and the late Percy Smith. The beloved husband to the late Fannie Walton
Smith. Cherished father of Alwyne Smith of New Haven, and Robert (Kristen)
Smith of Hamden. Survived by step children Angela Jones of New Britain and
Jerome Jackson and of Hartford. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 step
grandchildren. He was predeceased by one granddaughter Breyanna Jones. Robert
was a founding member of Mt. Calvary Church.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will take place on Sat. July
11, 2015 at 9am. with his son Pastor Robert Smith doing his eulogy at First
Calvary Baptist Church, 609 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Interment will follow in
the Smith family plot at Centerville Cemetery Hamden. Viewing in church
