William Lincoln Severance, of Hamden, devoted husband of 63 years of the late Constance Buswell Severance, entered into rest on July 19, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on June 22, 1917 to the late Ellsworth Lincoln Severance and Louise E. Zies Severance in Bridgeport Ct. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1935 and attended Bridgeport University. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Quartermaster Corp as a 2nd Lieutenant until 1946. He was employed by the Singer Manufacturing Co. and by the Remington Electric Shaver Co. from which he retired.  A resident of Hamden since 1962, he was a faithful member of Trinity Church on the Green in New Haven. Mr. Severance is survived by a daughter, the Reverend Lynne Severance of Hamden, a son Peter Severance of North Chelmsford Ma. and grandchildren Rebecca Severance and Neesa, David and Jacob Severance, a brother Raymond E. Severance and sister-in-law Charlotte Severance, of Stratford. He was pre-deceased by a sister Lucille Hermann. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Church on the Green at a later time. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
