Ava Lavenia Houston, age 58, of West Haven, was called home
Tuesday May 3, 2016. Ms. Houston was born in New Haven on June 21, 1957, a
daughter of the late Lloyd and Ruth (Young) Houston. She was an employee of
YNHH as a Patient Care Associate. Ava was also a member of Vertical Church of
West Haven. She is survived by her brother Michael Houston (Cynthia); sisters
Sandra Jackson-Hines (William Sr.) and Gloria Thompson (Gregory); five nieces
and nephews, a great niece, two god daughters, and a host of relatives and
friends.
A Memorial Service of Ms. Houston’s life and legacy will be
held on Monday May 9, 2016 at 11 o’clock at Vertical Church, 225 Meloy Rd.,
