Marguerite Russo Santagata, 94, of Woodbridge and Hamden, entered into eternal
life on Feb. 20, 2015. Born on Sept. 8, 1920 in New Haven to the late Pasquale and
Bessie Vitagliano Russo. Beloved wife to the late John Santagata. Cherished mother of
Andrew Sale of New Haven, Anthony (Paula) Santagata of North Haven, John (Marcia)
Santagata of Meriden, and Angela (Jim) DeMattie of FL. Sister of Phyllis (Joe) Triano
of Wallingford, and Francis Russo of PA. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters Irene Stash
and Josephine Troiano. Also Predeceased by 1st
Matthew Santagata. Marguerite was an inspiration to her family and friends having
overcome a tragedy in life. Through faith, Marguerite lived life to the fullest sharing her
love and laughter with family and many friends. Marguerite was the life of the party.
Marguerite’s Funeral Procession will leave Colonial 86 Circular Ave. Hamden Monday
at 10:45a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church at 11
O’clock. Interment will follow in the Santagata Family plot in Beaverdale Memorial
Park. Wake will be Sunday from 3-7p.m. Donations in Marguerite’s memory can be
